CLIMATE CHANGE. HOW TO STOP IT?

What’s Climate Change?

As a result of our activities, the climate of Earth is changing greatly. The environment is under a lot of stress due to the same. As a result, the changing climate is termed as climate change

What are the main causes of climate change?

don’t overuse this

There are several causes behind climate change. Some of them include:-

  1. Power generation (Nuclear, thermal and Other industries)
Although nuclear power generation is relatively clean, it leaves behind a plethora of radioactive waste. This radioactive waste is very harmful and is able to contaminate a lot of organic matter, posing a huge risk to human safety.
  2. Manufacturing goods
Good manufacture requires industries to be set up, and industries use up natural resources, whilst releasing harmful pollutants into the air. Despite stringent regulations, some industrial waste is still seeping into the world’s oceans, posing a risk to marine life.
  3. Forest cutdown
Several forests round the world are being cut down in order to make space for humans. Overpopulation and overutilization of natural resources are linked together: Greater is the population, more will be the stress on natural resources of an area to fulfill human demands.
  4. Overconsumption
We fill ourselves with so much that our immune system is left to fend off diseases. This leads to weakening of the immune system, which paves the way for several diseases. Some examples include Cancer, Gallstones and Fatty liver disease
  5. Transportation
Modern transportation is reliant on fossil fuels like petroleum, which causes excessive pollution. Although electric vehicles are better at conserving the environment, it’s expensive, which makes people believe that other environment-harming alternatives are better.

Okay, But how does it affect us?

save this earth…………….

Climate change is proving to be disastrous for planet Earth. Due to it, crops are getting destroyed, leading to food shortage.
Remember the part where I mentioned that we are suffering from diseases due to it? Ill-effects of climate change are causing approximately 250,000 more deaths every year.
Animals are dying off due to lack of habitat. What caused them to lose their habitats? Climate Change. Who caused Climate Change in the first place? The animal we know today as a “Homosapien” i.e. HUMAN.
(Fun fact: The Sargasso seaweed has went a long way in helping us mitigate climate change by absorbing some carbon dioxide 🙂
Also, about 85% of the Homosapiens are affected by it. Yet these humans continue to cause it.
The ice is melting due to climate change (Global warming). The greenhouse gas influx is increasing and many solar radiations are staying on Earth, causing a rise in ambient temperature. This rise in temperature triggers Climate Change, which poses threat to all of life.
58% of ALL diseases are caused by Climate Change.
So, think twice before disposing that last plastic bag…
Fun Fact: If humans are removed from Earth, all the remaining biosystems would continue to proliferate, without any negative impact.

How Can we stop it?

let there be green!

It all starts with us. If we ourselves take initiative for ourselves, we can stay longer on this planet. We must quit plastic. Plastic, though convenient, takes a long time to degraded by biological elements, and thus, poses great danger to the environment.
Stop using too much energy. Use only what is needed. Go by bicycles to places which are closer. Turn off the cars at a red light stop.
Switch to Electric Vehicles. Don’t waste water.
In short, save the beautiful environment around you.
